Thursday–Monday October 26–30, 2006
Artisan Sicilian cheeses were offered for tasting or purchase.
A small mortadella being sliced for tasting.
A display of chestnuts and leaves, along with another important northern Tuscan product, farro.
Salone del Gusto also had a room to purchase wine by the glass for E1–4. There were only 1,973 wines offered.
Other products to taste included olive oils, dried beans, breads, beer, artichokes, apples, oysters, tuna, salmon, lobsters, mustards and grappa. Much of the food at the convention are under economic or ecological threat, and Slow Food is working to preserve them for future generations.
About 170,000 people attended Salone del Gusto, which was held in a building quite a bit larger than Moscone Center.
