Milano

The Duomo has been in a cleaning program since 2003. The front of the building is the only area left needing work. The rest of the building is much cleaner than just a few years ago.
This photo of the inside of the Duomo shows the scale of the building—see the size of people in the middle of the photo and the number of rows of pews.
A close up showing what the building looks like after cleaning. Before it was grimy.
Dinner near the Duomo consisted of ribbon pasta with porcini; farro soup; veal cutlets Milanese; and a carrot salad.
Before going home, the obligatory stop in Milano was made. Clothing shops were sought out and merchandise acquired. Of course, the enormous Duomo, begun in the 14th century, is always worth a visit to appreciate architectural history.
Here is the map again.
Next—a very early train to Malpensa Airport and a long flight home via chaotic EWR.
