The short flight out across the sea to the airport at San Pedro was beautiful.

From our lodge on the small, nearby island of Cayo Espanto, we swam and took small boats around the area. On the map, our lodge is near the icon of a swimmer in the sea (northeast of Belize City).

We had a great and relaxing time on the island. On Tuesday, 17 March, we boarded a plane at San Pedro for Belize City, where we transferred to a flight going to DFW and then after a short transfer time, on to SFO.

We had left an idyllic world of the cayes for the pendemic “starter in place” of the real world.
